Postdoctoral Position in the Climate Extremes’ Storyline 'Heat and Health'

The company, affiliated with Prof. Sonia Seneviratne at ETH Zurich, is seeking a Postdoctoral Fellow for the Storyline “Heat and Health”. This role involves working closely with research groups from ETH Zurich and Uni Bern. The main day-to-day responsibilities include co-developing a vision for a climate extreme storyline, integrating cross-disciplinary research, and conducting interdisciplinary research at the interface between natural and social sciences. The Postdoctoral Fellow will also be responsible for initiating and promoting cross-cutting activities, interacting with stakeholders, and exchanging with other postdocs and coordinators. This position is suited for those aiming for a career at the interface between science, policy, and society. The role is funded for 3.5 years, with a one-year contract term that can be renewed. To be considered for this position, candidates must have a PhD in a related field such as climate science, environmental science, or public health. Experience in studying the relation between heat and health, as well as research coordination and stakeholder engagement, is also necessary. The ideal candidate will have an integrative personality, excellent organizational and interpersonal skills, and a strong command of English.
