Lead Forward Deployed Engineer

Salesforce, the leading AI‑powered CRM, is looking for a Lead Forward Deployed Engineer to join its delivery organisation. In this capacity you will design, build and launch agentic AI solutions inside the environments of large enterprise customers, working side‑by‑side with a Deployment Strategist to bring configurations, customisations and full‑stack deployments into production from day one. Your daily work will involve steering the architecture and implementation of AI agents that perform real‑world actions, handling everything from prompt design and reasoning to tool integration and system connectivity. You will construct and connect data pipelines on platforms such as Salesforce Data Cloud, Snowflake, Databricks and other customer data systems, while maintaining dashboards and KPI reports that monitor agent health and business impact. The role also includes leading rapid proofs of concept and minimum viable products, sharing best practices, and mentoring junior engineers as you translate complex business challenges into deployable solutions. Candidates must bring at least seven years of software engineering or technical delivery experience, with a track record of shipping production‑grade systems—preferably within an AI stack, full‑stack development, or large‑language‑model environments. Extensive client‑facing delivery experience in consulting, professional services or forward‑deployed engineering is required, along with fluency in two or more languages among Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java and Apex. Deep expertise in LLMs, prompt engineering, data modelling, APIs and integration patterns is essential, as is the ability to converse technically with architects and executives. English fluency and proficiency in German or French, plus willingness to travel about a quarter of the time, are also mandatory. Additional advantages include holding multiple Salesforce certifications such as Platform Developer I, Agentforce Specialist or architect‑level credentials, familiarity with agent frameworks like LangChain or LlamaIndex, and strong experience with cloud data platforms such as Snowflake, Databricks or BigQuery.
