The firm blends a start‑up spirit with decades of aerospace know‑how, employing more than 1,700 specialists across 13 sites in six nations. The Environmental Testing group in Zurich‑Seebach, a compact team of six engineers, validates that components and complete spacecraft can survive the harsh conditions of space and demanding terrestrial applications. The position involves designing, setting up and executing environmental simulation campaigns for both internal projects and external clients. Daily tasks include operating vibration, shock, pyro‑shock, centrifuge, climatic and thermal‑vacuum chambers, as well as carrying out measurement activities such as acceleration, load, strain, distance and high‑speed video tracking. The engineer will collaborate with customers and internal stakeholders to draft test concepts, select appropriate profiles, and advise design teams on feasibility. Responsibilities also cover preparing quotations, managing test‑facility schedules, analysing data, producing clear reports, and maintaining calibration and service records for all measurement devices and test rigs. Applicants must hold a university degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Aerospace Engineering or a comparable technical discipline, or an Advanced Federal Diploma (TS/HF) in a technical profession. They need hands‑on experience with physical testing and measurement equipment, a solid grasp of measurement science, electronics/control principles and basic physics. Proficiency with Microsoft Windows and common office tools is required. Fluency in German and at least a B2 level in English, both written and spoken, are mandatory. A methodical, practical mindset with a strong focus on quality and orderliness is essential. Additional assets include completed vocational training in mechanical or electrical engineering, prior involvement in testing, research or development projects, and experience within the aerospace or automotive fields. Familiarity with electronic data‑acquisition hardware, knowledge of 5S or similar workplace‑organisation systems, French language skills, and a licence or practical experience operating cranes, man‑lifts or forklifts are considered advantageous. The role offers the chance to work in an international, high‑tech environment, collaborate with a highly specialised team, and access state‑of‑the‑art test facilities. Benefits feature public‑transport subsidies, fully paid parental leave, and clear pathways for training, development and career progression.
