The company, rooted in a heritage dating back to 1893, focuses on delivering innovative propulsion solutions that support a greener maritime sector. The role of Engine Expert will join a diverse team of more than 420 professionals from over 25 nationalities, contributing directly to the company's sustainability mission. In this position you will provide on‑site advice during commissioning and resolve technical problems encountered in the field. You will keep detailed records of service actions, maintenance logs and observations to satisfy compliance and reporting needs. Continuous learning about the latest marine engine technologies and service methods is also expected. A background in equipment, electrical or electronics disciplines, or equivalent hands‑on experience, is essential. You must be comfortable applying safety procedures during field work, performing on‑board troubleshooting, measurements and high‑complexity tasks such as software updates or tuning. Ability to manage field service projects, coordinate with multidisciplinary teams, and use standard PC software tools is mandatory. Strong written and spoken English skills and a self‑motivated, improvement‑focused attitude complete the profile. WinGD offers a dynamic, non‑hierarchical environment where ideas are welcomed and interdisciplinary collaboration is the norm. Employees benefit from in‑house technical training and professional development programmes, enabling them to stay at the forefront of marine propulsion innovation. The role is full‑time (100 % workload) and starts by mutual agreement, providing a stable platform to influence the future of sustainable shipping. What the role asks for: - MSc in Mechanical Engineering - Knowledge of two‑stroke engine performance and thermodynamics - Experience with two‑stroke engine service and operation - Familiarity with automation systems and electronics - Background in equipment, electrical or electronics fields - Hands‑on safety‑standard compliance in field work - Troubleshooting and on‑board measurement abilities - Capability to manage field service projects - Proficiency with PC software and basic setup - English reading, writing and communication skills - Self‑driven, self‑critical mindset for continuous improvement
