VDI / Server Engineer

The VDI / Server Engineer will design, build and support the organisation's virtual desktop infrastructure and Microsoft‑based server platforms, delivering secure, reliable and scalable workspaces for users across the business. Day‑to‑day duties include creating and maintaining VDI and virtual‑application environments, handling desktop images, application delivery, user profiles and policy settings, and managing capacity, performance and availability. The role integrates VDI services with identity, endpoint, storage, networking and security solutions, applies secure configuration baselines, and automates image creation, provisioning and ongoing maintenance. Monitoring of VDI and Microsoft server platforms, troubleshooting performance or availability issues, and supporting patching, upgrades, migrations and lifecycle activities are also required. Participation in incident, problem, change and major‑incident processes, as well as keeping technical documentation, design standards and operating procedures up to date, is essential.
