FenX is seeking a Mechanical Equipment Development Engineer to focus on the development, testing, and industrialisation of equipment used in the production of mineral foam. The company specialises in creating innovative solutions for mineral foam production, and the role involves a full development cycle from concept to industrial transfer. The main responsibilities include leading equipment development projects, preparing functional specifications, and creating CAD models, technical drawings, prototypes, and experimental test setups. The engineer will also support the installation, commissioning, validation, and optimisation of equipment at customer sites. Collaboration with external engineering and machinery partners is essential for transferring validated concepts into industrial solutions. Additionally, the role involves building and maintaining engineering documentation to support technology scale-up and industrialisation. To qualify, candidates must have a degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, product development, process engineering, or a related technical discipline. They should also have 3-5 years of relevant experience in equipment development, machine design, or related industrial engineering environments. Strong mechanical design and CAD skills, along with hands-on experience in building, modifying, testing, and commissioning equipment, are crucial. Experience working in multidisciplinary teams and with external partners is also required. Nice-to-have skills include a good understanding of sensors, actuators, controls, instrumentation, and data acquisition. The role is based in Turgi (Baden) in the Zürich Metropolitan Area and involves approximately 30% regular travel.
