Senior Mechanical Engineer - Humanoid (human)

The position is a senior mechanical engineer focused on humanoid robots, joining a company whose ambition is to transition advanced robot prototypes into dependable, high‑volume production. The team works on next‑generation humanoid platforms, requiring robust mechanical architectures that satisfy strict standards for reliability, serviceability, cost and quality. In this role you will steer the creation and refinement of mechanical subsystems—from initial concepts through to serial manufacturing. Responsibilities include shaping structures, joints, actuators, gearboxes and housings while emphasizing manufacturability, durability and expense. You will champion design‑for‑manufacturing, design‑for‑assembly and design‑for‑serviceability practices, manage industrialisation tasks, and coordinate closely with production, supply‑chain, quality and engineering groups. Defining component specifications, tolerances and critical interfaces, performing structural, fatigue, thermal and reliability analyses, and leading root‑cause investigations during prototype, validation and production stages are core duties. You will also support supplier qualification, devise validation plans, oversee testing, mentor junior staff and collaborate with electronics, software, product management and operations to deliver fully integrated robotic systems. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, mechatronics, robotics or a related field and bring eight to fifteen years of experience developing complex mechanical or mechatronic products. A proven record of moving designs into serial production, deep knowledge of mechanical design, machine elements and tolerance engineering, and hands‑on expertise with DfM, DfA, cost optimisation and ramp‑up are essential. Extensive CAD work—preferably in Creo, though SolidWorks, Siemens NX or equivalents are acceptable—and familiarity with CNC machining, sheet‑metal, die‑casting, injection molding, composites and precision assembly are required, as is fluency in English (German is a plus).
