Robotics Product Engineer

MESH specializes in automating rebar fabrication and construction processes through robotics and software. The company aims to enhance construction efficiency, safety, and precision by integrating advanced automation systems into existing workflows. MESH is based in Switzerland, equipped with in-house workshops and robot testing facilities, and collaborates closely with partners in the construction and machinery sectors. The Robotics Product Engineer will oversee the performance and improvement of MESH's existing products, such as the Actuate and Node systems, which are currently deployed in customer environments. The role involves ensuring these systems operate effectively, enhancing their capabilities, and addressing any issues that arise. The engineer will act as the primary point of contact for customer deployments, monitor systems, diagnose problems, and implement improvements based on real-world data and customer feedback. To excel in this role, candidates must have at least two years of professional experience in software engineering with strong Python skills, or experience working with industrial robots. A background in shipping hardware and/or software robotic products is essential. Strong analytical and diagnostic skills are required to identify and resolve issues across the software/hardware stack. Candidates should also have a solid understanding of the tradeoffs and constraints between hardware and software, and be comfortable working directly with customers and deployed systems. Nice-to-have skills include experience with specific industrial robot platforms or manufacturer SDKs, familiarity with fleet monitoring and telemetry tools, and experience as an engineering liaison for enterprise or industrial customers. What the role asks for: - 2+ years of experience in software engineering with strong Python skills or experience with industrial robots. - Experience with the delivery of hardware and/or software robot products. - Strong analytical and diagnostic skills. - Solid understanding of the trade-offs and limitations between hardware and software. - Knowledge of the data flow between ERP/MES systems and the shop floor. - Comfort in direct work with customers and deployed systems. - Engineering background that provides the fundamentals to think about mechanical and electrical systems. - Independence in identifying the most important improvements. - Willingness to travel to customer sites. - Proficiency in English; German and/or French are a strong plus.
