Liebherr Machines Bulle SA is looking for a Development Engineer Exhaust After Treatment on a 12‑month full‑time contract. The company designs and builds heavy‑duty machinery, and this role focuses on creating and integrating Exhaust Aftertreatment Systems (EATS) that meet project targets and regulatory demands. In day‑to‑day work you will lead EATS development from requirement definition through system design, testing, validation and PPAP release. You will draft technical specifications, plan and coordinate test programmes, manage prototype and calibration maturity, and analyse bench‑test data to drive troubleshooting. The role also includes handling Design Verification Plan and Reporting (DVPnR) activities, supporting Quality Gates, and documenting validation status and risks. Close collaboration with Engine Development, Design, Purchasing, Quality and external suppliers is required, as is acting as the technical reference for EATS suppliers throughout technology evaluation, component development and 8D problem‑solving. The position demands 3–5 years of experience in EATS, exhaust‑system or hardware development, preferably on internal‑combustion engines. You must possess solid knowledge of exhaust aftertreatment and catalyst technologies, and proven experience in EATS testing, validation and calibration, including test planning, measurement and data analysis. Familiarity with 1D/3D EATS simulation, basic CFD, FMEA and DVPnR methodology is required, as well as competence with measurement tools such as CSM, Vector or ETAS and a basic understanding of automotive software. A structured, analytical approach to troubleshooting and the ability to coordinate technical topics with suppliers are also essential.
