The role sits within a major bank's technology division and focuses on building and evolving the frontend architecture of mission‑critical applications that serve both internal users and the bank's external clients through the e‑banking channel. On a daily basis you will own complex frontend solutions, guaranteeing they are scalable, performant, secure and maintainable over the long term. You will work hand‑in‑hand with UX/UI designers and business stakeholders to turn detailed requirements into intuitive, high‑quality user interfaces. Your output will consist of production‑grade React and TypeScript code for sophisticated financial applications, while you also tackle advanced challenges such as state‑management, performance tuning and integration with distributed backend services. In addition, you will refactor legacy code where needed, support troubleshooting and root‑cause analysis in both development and production, and actively contribute in a fast‑paced, agile, cross‑functional environment. The essential qualifications include extensive, hands‑on experience with JavaScript and TypeScript, and a proven track record of delivering React applications at enterprise scale. You must possess a deep understanding of modern frontend ecosystems, including Node.js and contemporary build tooling, as well as solid experience with design systems and large shared component libraries. A strong grasp of Unix/Linux environments and bash scripting is required, together with excellent analytical, decision‑making and problem‑solving abilities, and the communication skills needed to influence technical direction within an agile team. Additional, desirable expertise comprises familiarity with Microsoft Azure cloud services, knowledge of micro‑services architecture and containerisation technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes, and prior experience in financial services or other highly regulated sectors.
