The company is assembling a fully remote, globally distributed team of scientists and engineers, offering flexible engagement options such as consulting, freelance, or part‑time work, with the possibility of moving into full‑time positions as the organization expands. In this senior statistical data scientist role you will work alongside engineers, breeders, biologists and data engineers to turn intricate experimental and biological data into clear, decision‑ready insights. Your daily tasks include designing and analysing biological datasets with rigorous statistical methods, translating statistical findings into actionable recommendations, building predictive models that guide breeding and product development, and applying machine learning only when it adds genuine value beyond classical techniques. You will also ensure that experimental conclusions are robust, reproducible and well validated. The position requires an MSc or PhD in statistics, biostatistics, applied mathematics, quantitative genetics, econometrics or a closely related discipline. You must have a solid foundation in statistical inference, experimental design, regression and mixed‑model analysis, as well as practical experience with Python or R. Familiarity with predictive modelling and modern machine‑learning approaches, strong communication abilities and a curiosity for scientific problem‑solving are also essential.
