As a Project Manager at SBM Offshore, you will join a worldwide leader in deep‑water ocean infrastructure that supplies floating production solutions throughout the entire asset lifecycle. The company, supported by more than 8,000 professionals, focuses on safe, efficient and lower‑carbon energy production while expanding into new blue‑economy opportunities. In this role you will steer FPSO projects from the initial concept right through to commissioning and operation. Your daily work includes creating and maintaining project plans, schedules and budgets, allocating resources, and coordinating engineering, procurement, construction and operations groups to keep activities aligned. You will continuously track progress, spot risks or issues early, and apply mitigation measures, while ensuring that all work complies with industry standards, safety rules, environmental guidelines and internal policies. Regular reporting to senior management on performance metrics, financial status and risk assessments, as well as maintaining clear communication with clients, contractors, regulators and internal teams, will also be part of your responsibilities. The position requires a bachelor's degree in engineering, project management or a closely related discipline. You must have substantial experience leading FPSO projects or similarly large, complex programmes that involve many stakeholders and tight deadlines, and a solid grasp of FPSO design, construction and operational aspects. Proficiency with project‑management tools and recognised methodologies is essential, as are strong leadership qualities, a collaborative mindset, and the ability to inspire multicultural teams. You should demonstrate sound problem‑solving and decision‑making capabilities, together with excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder‑management skills. SBM Offshore is headquartered in Amsterdam and operates a long‑term, asset‑backed business model that provides high‑availability assets and predictable cash flows. The company promotes a culture centred on safety, quality and continuous improvement, and values diversity and equal opportunity. An advanced degree is considered advantageous, and the global nature of the business offers exposure to a broad network of experts and the chance to contribute to pioneering projects in the energy transition. What the role asks for: - Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management or related field - Significant experience managing FPSO or comparable large‑scale projects - Deep understanding of FPSO design, construction and operation - Proficiency with project‑management tools and methodologies - Strong leadership and collaborative approach - Strong problem‑solving and decision‑making capabilities - Excellent communication, negotiation and stakeholder‑management abilities - Advanced degree preferred (nice‑to‑have)
