MESH specializes in automating rebar fabrication and construction processes using robotics and software. The company aims to modernize the construction industry by integrating advanced robotics and automation, making construction faster, safer, and more precise. MESH's solutions are designed to operate in real-world production environments, focusing on robustness, simplicity, and deployability. The company is based in Switzerland and collaborates closely with partners in the construction and machinery sectors, regularly testing systems in production and on-site. The internship role involves working directly on real-world engineering challenges from the start. Interns will contribute to features and developments that directly impact MESH's products, focusing on mechanical, automation/controls, or robotics areas. This hands-on experience includes designing and iterating on mechanical components, building and testing electro-mechanical assemblies, and developing automation/control logic. Interns will also support robotics integration, debug systems, and contribute to test rigs and prototypes. To qualify, candidates must be pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, Robotics, or a related field. Strong hands-on skills, a solid understanding of mechanical design, controls, or robotics, and a practical problem-solving mindset are essential. Candidates should be comfortable working independently while collaborating closely with a small, fast-moving team. Fluency in English is required, with German being a plus. Availability to work on-site in Switzerland is also necessary. Nice-to-have skills include experience with CAD, PLC, motion control, sensors, actuators, and kinematics. The location in Switzerland offers access to in-house workshops and robot testing facilities, providing a unique opportunity to work on industrial-grade automation for a sector that needs it. What the role asks for: - Study in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Automation, Robotics or a related field - Practical, pragmatic problem-solving skills - Fluently in English - Availability to work on-site in Switzerland
