The position of Senior Property & Casualty Risk Manager is offered by Zurich, a global insurer that serves more than 82 million customers across 200+ markets. In this capacity you will be expected to deliver unbiased risk counsel on major initiatives, projects and decisions throughout the P&C portfolio. Your day will involve steering deep‑dive risk analyses, reviewing risk mitigation plans, and turning findings into clear, actionable insights for executives. You will also be responsible for refining governance frameworks, creating and updating policies, tools and templates, and ensuring their consistent use across the division. Monitoring, assurance and reporting duties will require you to validate key results and present them in an understandable format, while also driving a strong risk culture through training and stakeholder engagement. The ideal candidate brings more than twelve years of experience in property and casualty commercial insurance or retail, preferably from underwriting, claims or a risk‑management background. A university degree, or equivalent experience, in risk management, insurance, actuarial science, finance, economics, business administration or a related field is required. You must possess an advanced grasp of the P&C business, including underwriting, reserving, claims handling, pricing, catastrophe exposure, reinsurance, operational and strategic risk. Prior work in a second‑line risk function or a comparable role that provided independent review and advisory support is essential, as is a proven ability to interpret risk data, spot key themes and translate them into concrete recommendations. Strong communication, critical‑thinking and collaboration skills, together with a record of influencing senior stakeholders in a matrixed environment, are also mandatory. Experience leading risk assessments, appetite reviews, assurance activities, governance processes and management reporting rounds out the core requirements. A professional underwriter certification is considered a valuable addition.
