Supply Chain & Inventory Lead, Advanced Synthesis 80-100% (m/f/d)

Lonza’s Advanced Synthesis division is looking for a Supply Chain & Inventory Lead to join its team in either Visp or Basel, Switzerland. The position supports the company’s mission of producing high‑quality medicines worldwide and offers relocation help for qualified candidates and their families, with a hybrid set‑up that allows up to one‑fifth of the time to be worked remotely when business needs permit. The daily work revolves around shaping and executing stock‑control plans that keep inventory lean while avoiding shortages. The incumbent will steer cross‑site discussion groups on topics such as surplus stock and client liability, create and maintain visual tools for forecasting and write‑offs, and keep a close eye on supply‑chain performance metrics to spot trends and risks. Collaboration with teams across functions and locations is essential for redesigning processes, delivering regular performance reviews, and advising senior leadership on improvement actions. The role also defines company‑wide procedures, for example inventory reporting within the sales‑and‑operations planning cycle, and ensures they are followed at every site. Candidates must hold at least a bachelor’s degree in supply‑chain management, business administration, engineering or a related discipline, with a master’s degree viewed favorably. They need a solid background in material and stock handling, demonstrable success in boosting KPI results, and strong analytical capabilities for handling complex data. Proven leadership in matrix environments, excellent interpersonal communication, and fluency in English are required; additional German or Chinese language skills are a plus.
