OpenStack Engineer (m/w/d) – Winterthur Area

The role of an OpenStack Engineer at NTT DATA involves providing senior-level engineering and operational support for enterprise OpenStack environments. This involves leading complex troubleshooting, managing control-plane health, and ensuring platform resilience. The role also includes validating architecture designs, providing performance and capacity recommendations, and acting as an escalation point for critical incidents. Additionally, the engineer will mentor L2 teams, develop technical documentation, and collaborate with various teams to ensure end-to-end platform stability. To qualify for this role, candidates must have extensive experience in administering and supporting enterprise OpenStack environments. Strong expertise in OpenStack architecture, operations, and troubleshooting is essential. A solid understanding of Linux systems, virtualization, networking, storage, and cloud infrastructure technologies is also required. Experience with performance analysis, capacity planning, high availability, and platform resilience is crucial. Additionally, candidates must have a proven ability to resolve complex technical issues and lead incident response activities. Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills are necessary. Nice-to-have skills include certifications such as Advanced OpenStack platform certification, Red Hat Certified Architect (RHCA), Certified Kubernetes Administrator (CKA), and Certified Kubernetes Security Specialist (CKS). Additional certifications in security, network, storage, or compute infrastructure are advantageous. The role is based in the Winterthur area, Switzerland, and requires German language proficiency at a minimum B2 level. Candidates must hold Swiss citizenship and be available to support customer interactions and operational alignment within the Winterthur region.
