Network and Capabilities Manager

Roche is a global healthcare company dedicated to preventing, stopping and curing disease while ensuring access to treatment for all. Within its Clinical Distribution organisation, the Network and Capabilities Manager will help realise the ambition of delivering the right product to the right place at the right time, supporting more than 500 studies worldwide and aiming for one‑day, CO₂‑neutral shipments. In this role you will supervise a distribution network that handles over 100 000 shipments each year across more than 130 countries. You will work closely with internal functions such as Supply Chain, Procurement and Quality, as well as with Clinical Operations teams and external logistics partners. Your day‑to‑day tasks include executing the chapter's strategy, preparing new locations, managing supplier relationships, controlling a spend of over CHF 50 million, and guaranteeing GxP and GCP compliance throughout the network. The position requires a senior‑level professional with deep expertise in supply‑chain operations. You must have a solid grasp of the full supply‑chain cycle, including warehousing, transport, logistics and the regulatory framework for clinical trials, plus proven GXP experience. A thorough understanding of clinical‑supply distribution processes, supplier‑relationship management and the supporting tools is essential, as is the ability to communicate complex topics clearly to senior leaders. The role also demands at least ten years of hands‑on experience in supply‑chain, distribution, planning or manufacturing, specifically within clinical‑supply contexts, and a relevant university degree (BA, MS or MBA) or comparable experience. The team operates in an agile, self‑managed environment, overseeing more than 23 warehouses and depots worldwide. While a formal degree is required, additional certifications such as APICS, SCOR, Operational Excellence, Six Sigma or Lean are considered advantageous and demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement.
