EY is seeking an Intern for its Indirect Tax Advisory & Transformation team in Geneva. The internship sits within the VAT and customs practice, offering exposure to both Swiss and international indirect‑tax matters. The daily work will centre on building tax expertise by supporting high‑profile national and cross‑border projects that involve VAT, customs duties and other indirect taxes. You will collaborate with specialists from various sectors, helping to design innovative solutions for complex tax and business challenges. The role also includes continuous learning through in‑house training and mentorship, allowing you to develop technical skills while contributing to the team's deliverables. Candidates must hold a recognised university qualification in economics or law (master's level or equivalent) and demonstrate advanced skills in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint. Fluency in both English and French is essential, as is familiarity with AI tools and automation workflows. The position requires a strong analytical mindset, the ability to work methodically, and a genuine team‑player attitude with a view to long‑term involvement. An agile, growth‑oriented outlook, curiosity about purpose‑driven work, and an inclusive approach that values diverse perspectives are also mandatory. While the above are core requirements, the ideal applicant will also bring additional assets. Holding both economics and law degrees, showing a keen interest in Swiss and international indirect taxation, and having prior internship or work experience in tax or tax‑technology environments are considered strong advantages.
