Head of Platform Engineering (w/m)

The company is currently upgrading its entire datacenter and the associated products, seeking skilled and experienced engineers to develop innovative solutions for this digital transformation. The Head of Platform Engineering will oversee and grow a team of approximately eight engineers. This role involves setting the strategy, architecture, and roadmap for the CDM Cloud Platform, which is based on Kubernetes. Ensuring the platform's availability, reliability, security, and scalability is a key responsibility. The role also involves driving automation, infrastructure as code, and GitOps practices across the organization. Additionally, fostering a strong engineering culture and mentoring team members, as well as collaborating with various leadership teams on cross-functional projects, are essential tasks. Managing the platform's budget, vendors, and capacity planning is also part of the job. Candidates must have several years of experience in platform or infrastructure engineering, including leadership roles. A strong technical background in Kubernetes, cloud-native architecture, and automation is required. Proven ability to lead, grow, and motivate engineering teams, along with a strategic mindset and hands-on technical expertise, is crucial. Experience in operating mission-critical systems in a regulated environment is beneficial. Nice-to-have skills include proficiency in German and French. The role is based in the Zurich area, specifically in Urdorf, and offers a dynamic and collaborative work environment.
