Senior Software Engineer, Consensus

Anza is a Solana‑focused research and development laboratory that builds high‑performance, scalable blockchain infrastructure. As a Senior Software Engineer specializing in consensus, you will help strengthen Anza’s Agave client and the wider Solana network, directly influencing the reliability and speed of decentralized applications. Your daily work will involve designing, implementing and refining consensus mechanisms to boost network throughput and stability. You will craft algorithms that coordinate block production among validators, hunt for and remediate security weaknesses, and enhance scalability so the system can handle more transactions and participants. You will also write and run extensive tests—including stress, fault‑injection and benchmark suites—while collaborating with protocol engineers, security specialists and infrastructure teams to integrate consensus components smoothly. Maintaining clear documentation and participating in peer code reviews will be part of the routine. The position requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering or comparable practical experience, plus at least three years of hands‑on work with core infrastructure software and distributed systems. Proficiency in systems languages such as Rust or C++ is essential, as is familiarity with consensus algorithms, distributed architectures and blockchain concepts. Candidates must demonstrate strong problem‑solving abilities, a security‑focused mindset, experience with performance profiling, and effective teamwork and communication skills. Additional assets include comfort with Linux, automation tools, and system architecture, as well as knowledge of networking fundamentals and secure protocol design. Active involvement in Bitcoin, Ethereum or other open‑source blockchain projects is highly valued.
