P2620 - Safety Physician Oncology

Debiopharm’s Clinical Safety and Pharmacovigilance team in Lausanne is seeking a Safety Physician Oncology to join its Research and Development division. The position is a full‑time, permanent role based at the company’s headquarters, where the physician will help manage and assess safety risks for oncology and antibiotic candidates under the direction of the Head of Clinical Safety and Pharmacovigilance. On a daily basis the physician will work with internal experts and external partners to define the safety profile of the product, contribute medical insight to documents required for accelerated approval, investigator brochures and development safety updates, and conduct safety surveillance. This includes reviewing individual case reports directly in the safety database, performing ongoing signal detection, supervising outsourced medical activities, and co‑leading the creation of a signal‑detection tool together with clinical medicine, biometry and pharmacology colleagues. The role also involves active participation in study teams, matrix‑style collaboration, IDMC meetings and internal safety task forces. The ideal candidate holds an M.D. and has at least five years of direct clinical‑safety experience in a global biotech, pharmaceutical or CRO setting, preferably with early‑phase oncology exposure. Required competencies include strong leadership, collaborative and communication abilities, decisive judgment, and the capacity to prioritize multiple deadlines while maintaining high quality. Proficiency with the Microsoft 365 suite and a strong command of written and spoken English are essential; French language skills are considered an asset.
