Manufacturing Engineering Manager (CNC / Lean / Automation)

Gramian Consultancy, a boutique firm that matches IT and engineering talent with companies, is recruiting for a Manufacturing Engineering Manager on behalf of an established industrial manufacturer that produces high‑precision mechanical components and engineered production systems. The position will head a cross‑functional technical group that includes manufacturing engineering, design, CNC programming and industrialisation, blending leadership with hands‑on expertise in Lean, process optimisation and automation. In this role the manager will steer multidisciplinary teams, champion continuous‑improvement initiatives, and oversee the rollout of new products and production capabilities. Responsibilities include coordinating technical work across process engineering, applications and production, applying and refining Lean manufacturing methods, and managing the selection, purchase, installation and integration of new machinery and automated equipment. The job also entails designing and enhancing shop‑floor layouts and production workflows, supervising CNC programming and machining‑process optimisation, and directing complex technical projects from planning through execution to boost productivity, quality, precision and capacity. Candidates must bring at least ten years of experience in industrial production or manufacturing engineering and a minimum of five years in a manufacturing or technical management capacity. Proven practical experience with Lean manufacturing, machinery procurement and integration, and the design of production layouts is required, as is solid technical knowledge of CNC programming and familiarity with precision‑machining tools such as lathes, milling machines or grinders. Fluency in both French and English is essential. The appointment is a permanent, full‑time role based on‑site in the Jura canton of Switzerland.
