UBS is seeking driven recent graduates to join their 2027 Group Technology Office Graduate Talent Program as Software Engineers in Zurich. The primary tasks involve contributing to the development, testing, and support of global securities trading platforms. This includes working with modern engineering practices, such as AI-assisted development using GitHub Copilot, and specification-driven delivery. The role also involves building and enhancing both frontend and backend components in collaboration with experienced engineers and product specialists. Additionally, the position requires participating in code reviews, agile ceremonies, and technical discussions, as well as collaborating with colleagues across various teams and locations to deliver business value. To qualify, candidates must have graduated within the last 24 months and hold a bachelor's or master's degree, preferably in a STEM field. They should be hard-working, trustworthy, dedicated, and collaborative, with strong communication skills and the ability to thrive in a high-demand, deadline-driven environment. Knowledge of Java, object-oriented programming, JavaScript or TypeScript, and modern web technologies is essential. Familiarity with software development fundamentals, including testing, source control, and application design, as well as basic knowledge of databases, SQL, and API-based development, is also required. Experience with development tools such as Git, IntelliJ IDEA, VSCode, Jira, Maven, Gradle, or similar technologies is a must. Nice-to-have skills include a competitive minimum GPA of 4.5 according to the Swiss grading system, and evidence of how experimental and responsible use of AI can improve outcomes and efficiency. The role offers a supportive team, opportunities to grow, and flexible working options. The program is 18 months long, starting on 1 February 2027, and includes professional and technical training, as well as rotations to develop new skills and build a network.
