The Specialist – Accessories Developer works within On’s Accessories team, reporting to the Lead – Accessories Development and supporting the Global Product function. In this capacity you will steer the creation and technical development of On’s soft‑goods portfolio, especially bags and backpacks, guiding each item from early concept through to market launch. Your daily work covers the entire technical development cycle. You will produce detailed tech packs—technical drawings, material and component specs, colour applications and bill‑of‑materials data—using Adobe Illustrator and the company’s PLM tools. You will devise innovative construction methods that satisfy design intent, cost targets, durability and margin goals, while analysing patterns and 3‑D mock‑ups to optimise ergonomics and performance. You will lead fit, function and sample review sessions, record precise technical feedback and relay adjustments swiftly to global factories. Resolving structural challenges through advanced bonding, stitching and assembly techniques, you will manage both inline and special‑project timelines to meet seasonal milestones, maintain clear communication with suppliers, monitor sample accuracy and help reduce waste. Collaboration with the Accessories Creation Lead, Design Lead and Product Manager ensures alignment with delivery schedules and commercial objectives, and you will nurture vendor and cross‑functional relationships through email, travel and face‑to‑face meetings. The role requires at least five years of dedicated experience developing accessories focused on bags and backpacks, with a proven record in sports and high‑end performance gear. Experience in performance and lifestyle bags is highly desirable, as is the ability to translate 2‑D designs into 3‑D realities using PLM systems and Adobe Illustrator. You must have worked with world‑class manufacturers on performance textiles and demonstrate meticulous attention to measurements, tolerances and material specifications, coupled with a proactive, solution‑oriented mindset. An innovative outlook toward new yarn technologies and construction methods
