Software Engineer

Distran is a company that specializes in ultrasound acoustic cameras, and the software that powers these devices is central to their technology. The company is looking for a Software Engineer to join their team. This role involves developing and innovating the software that drives their acoustic cameras, ensuring high quality, reliability, and real-time performance. The engineer will work closely with a cross-functional agile team, using Scrum methodologies to deliver cutting-edge solutions that meet customer needs. The main responsibilities of the Software Engineer include developing high-performance code in modern C++ and Python, creating efficient video processing pipelines, and building services that support real-time leak detection. The engineer will also be responsible for understanding customer requirements, writing technical specifications, and ensuring the reliability of the product. Additionally, the role involves automating, optimizing, testing, and documenting systems, processes, and business functionalities. The engineer will participate in code reviews, testing, documentation, and task organization within the team. To be successful in this role, candidates must have at least three years of experience in software development and a strong command of modern C++ and Python. Proficiency with Linux command line tools and AI tools like Claude Code is essential. The ideal candidate should be comfortable working in a cross-functional environment and eager to learn new technology stacks. Fluency in English is required. Nice-to-have skills include experience with CUDA or other GPU-accelerated computing, embedded systems, Qt/QML, messaging interfaces like ZMQ, and writing pipelines with GStreamer. DevOps experience, particularly with Docker and Jenkins, is also beneficial.
