Senior Experimental Physicist - Space Research Technology

The position of Senior Experimental Physicist in Space Research Technology supports the International Space Federation (ISF), a cutting‑edge R&D institute based in the French Alps that investigates gravity‑control propulsion and quantum‑vacuum energy to develop clean, sustainable power sources. The role is based in Martigny, Switzerland, and contributes to turning bold scientific ideas into practical technologies. In the laboratory you will design, construct and run sophisticated experiments that involve analog resonant circuits, RF resonant LCR systems, cold‑plasma arrangements and rotating magnet‑coil devices for energy harvesting. Daily tasks include setting up and calibrating measurement tools such as oscilloscopes, spectrum analyzers and power meters, gathering and processing data, spotting unexpected effects and refining the setups. You will also keep the workspace safe, organized and well documented, while guiding engineers and junior researchers and helping move promising results toward real‑world applications. The ideal candidate holds a Ph.D. in physics, applied physics, electrical engineering or a closely related field, speaks fluent English (French is advantageous), and brings at least seven years of hands‑on experimental work. Proven expertise with analog electronics, RF or microwave measurements, and electromechanical systems is required, as is the ability to turn raw data into solid scientific conclusions and to operate independently within a small research team. Additional strengths include experience with high‑Q resonant circuits, cold‑plasma generation, high‑frequency or high‑voltage techniques, and familiarity with MATLAB, Python (NumPy/SciPy) or LabVIEW. The role offers a competitive salary, full health coverage for employees and children, performance bonuses, flexible work organization, relocation assistance to France if needed, and clear pathways for professional advancement in an innovative international environment.
