The engineer will work on Genie, NVIDIA's AI knowledge and developer-productivity service, contributing to various aspects of its development and integration. The main day-to-day responsibilities include developing high-quality C++ components, APIs, and integrations for NVIDIA's AI-powered developer tools. This involves building capabilities that connect native C++ tools with Genie's retrieval and agentic features. The engineer will also contribute to agentic workflows, retrieval systems, and ingestion pipelines, as well as improve the quality, reliability, performance, and resource usage of these systems. Additionally, the role involves owning features from the investigation and design phase through to implementation, testing, and delivery, and collaborating with various teams to develop performance-analysis and developer tools. To qualify for this role, candidates must have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. They need 5+ years of modern C++ programming skills, a good understanding of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, multithreading, debugging, and testing. The ability to work across C++ systems and Python-based AI services is essential, as is familiarity with AI-powered applications, agentic workflows, and retrieval systems. Strong communication and collaboration skills, along with the ability to investigate unfamiliar problems and learn new technologies, are also required. Nice-to-have skills include experience building substantial C++ applications, developer tools, or performance-sensitive systems. Familiarity with C++ performance analysis, concurrency, memory management, or large codebases is also beneficial. Hands-on experience with RAG, semantic search, embeddings, vector databases, or retrieval evaluation, as well as knowledge of GPU architecture, graphics APIs, game engines, or application-performance optimization, can set candidates apart. The role is based in a diverse and inclusive work environment at NVIDIA, known for its forward-thinking and hardworking culture. What the role asks for: - Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience. - 5+ years of modern C++ programming skills. - Good understanding of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design, multithreading, debugging, and testing. - Ability to work across C++ systems and Python-based AI services. - Familiarity with AI-powered applications, agentic workflows, retrieval systems, or related technologies. - Ability to investigate unfamiliar problems, learn new technologies, and follow work through to completion. - Good communication and collaboration skills, with openness to technical feedback. - Experience building substantial C++ applications, developer tools, or performance-sensitive systems (nice-to-have).
