Avaloq Release Manager / IT Operations Engineer

Rothschild & Co, a family‑controlled global financial services group with more than two centuries of history, is seeking an Avaloq Release Manager to keep its banking‑grade IT services reliable and agile. The role sits within the firm’s IT Operations team and is responsible for the smooth operation and ongoing evolution of the Avaloq platform that underpins both client‑facing and internal applications. Each week the incumbent will organise and execute Avaloq releases, ranging from routine weekly builds to monthly updates and urgent hot‑fixes. They will also prepare and run the development, system‑test, user‑acceptance and production environments, monitor batch‑group‑processing and end‑of‑day jobs, and oversee the connectivity of Avaloq interfaces to other internal and external systems. Additional duties include deploying platform components such as ICE and the Smart Client, administering Windows, Linux and OpenShift servers, and driving continuous improvement of the bank’s application landscape while liaising with external infrastructure providers. The position requires formal IT education or comparable advanced training together with several years of relevant experience. Candidates must have demonstrable expertise in Avaloq Release Management, including the planning and execution of weekly, monthly and hot‑fix cycles, and a solid grasp of Avaloq BGP, end‑of‑day processing, and environment handling. Proficiency with Linux, Oracle and PL/SQL, as well as familiarity with Avaloq interfaces, anonymisation and scripting, is essential. Strong problem‑solving abilities, a collaborative mindset, and fluent written and spoken English (German advantageous) are also required. Desirable skills include experience with container platforms such as OpenShift or Kubernetes, cloud services on Azure or Oracle OCI, and knowledge of CI/CD, DevOps, and monitoring tools like Splunk, Grafana or OEM.
