Compliance Officer - Investigations

Swissquote, the Swiss leader in online banking, offers trading, investing and banking services to more than half a million clients through secure digital platforms. The firm employs over a thousand staff who work flexibly in multicultural teams, and it is looking for a Compliance Officer to join its Investigations Team within the Compliance Department. In this role you will steer complex investigations, provide legal clarifications and prepare the mandatory reports that are sent to the Financial Intelligence Unit (MROS). You will act as a liaison with MROS and other Swiss law‑enforcement bodies, assist the team on a daily basis – including handling trading tasks for junior colleagues – and review the communication drafts produced by less experienced members to ensure they meet the bank’s delegation framework. Additional duties involve validating client transactions under investigation, refining internal procedures, drafting guidelines, and offering advice to both front‑line staff and senior management. The position requires a university degree in law or economics, with a compliance‑management certificate regarded as a strong advantage. Candidates must have at least five years of experience in a compliance function within the financial sector, preferably with a background in investigations and MROS reporting, and a solid understanding of Swiss legislation. Fluency in English and French is essential; knowledge of German, Russian or Arabic is considered beneficial. An analytical mindset, strong writing abilities, and the capacity to thrive under tight deadlines are also required. Preferred skills include familiarity with data‑analysis tools such as R, Python, SQL, Tableau or Snowflake, and the ability to work effectively in a fast‑moving, multicultural and technology‑driven environment.
