IT System Engineer – Workload Automation & Managed File Transfer

The team behind Workload Automation and Managed File Transfer seeks a technically adept System Engineer to support and evolve its enterprise scheduling and file‑transfer platforms. The position blends routine operational duties with engineering projects, allowing the individual to take increasing ownership of the managed services while collaborating with infrastructure, application, security and vendor groups. Daily tasks involve administering and supporting the scheduling and MFT solutions, configuring and monitoring jobs, workflows, batch processes and file‑transfer flows. The engineer will respond to incidents, conduct root‑cause analysis, and deliver technical assistance to internal stakeholders. Responsibilities also include managing secure communication methods such as SFTP, HTTPS, SSH, TLS, certificates and PGP/GPG, creating automation scripts, and contributing to platform upgrades, migrations and new‑solution rollouts. Maintaining documentation and supporting audit activities, as well as ensuring adherence to security standards and regulatory requirements, are also part of the role. Candidates must have experience in system engineering, infrastructure operations, automation, middleware or application support, with solid knowledge of both Linux and Windows environments. Proven work with workload automation tools (e.g., Automic/UC4, Control‑M, IBM Workload Scheduler) or managed file‑transfer products (e.g., Primeur Data One, GoAnywhere, Axway, IBM Sterling, MOVEit) is required, along with familiarity with secure transfer and encryption technologies. Scripting skills in Bash, Python, PowerShell or similar, strong troubleshooting abilities, and an understanding of networking and system integration are essential. Professional fluency in Italian and English is also mandatory. Additional expertise that would be advantageous includes experience with Broadcom Automic Automation (UC4), Primeur Data One, REST APIs, SQL, Jenkins, Ansible, Splunk, Dynatrace, Jira and Confluence.
