Goldman Sachs, a worldwide leader in investment banking, securities and asset management, is expanding its Private Wealth Management legal team. The position of Vice‑President, Transactional Lawyer, sits within the EMEA Wealth Management Legal group, serving clients in London, Birmingham or Zurich and collaborating with colleagues across the firm’s global network. The day‑to‑day work revolves around creating and reviewing documentation for a variety of lending products, such as securities‑backed facilities, consumer credit, regulated mortgages and structured asset‑backed financings. The lawyer will also back new product roll‑outs and transformation initiatives for the Capital Markets and Private Bank divisions, employ artificial‑intelligence tools to automate transaction processes, and provide counsel on collateral enforceability and security registration throughout Europe. In addition, the role requires interpreting and advising on UK and EU regulatory frameworks—including CRD, MiFID II, MAR, EMIR and consumer‑credit rules—and coordinating with internal and external counsel on cross‑border matters. Candidates must hold a law qualification and possess at least two years of experience after qualification. Relevant backgrounds include direct work on loan or derivatives transactions or broader financial‑services advisory work, acquired either at a reputable law firm or within an in‑house legal department. Fluency in English is essential, while proficiency in a major European language is advantageous but not mandatory.
