The International Olympic Committee, steward of the Olympic Games and leader of the worldwide Olympic Movement, seeks a trainee for its Corporate Communications and Public Affairs unit in Lausanne. This twelve‑month, full‑time internship offers exposure to a truly global network that includes athletes, national committees, international federations, organising bodies, partners and broadcasters, as well as public institutions such as the United Nations. In this role you will keep a close eye on policy developments across United Nations mechanisms, European forums and other regional entities, tracking daily shifts on subjects like gender equality, sustainability, migration, education, peace, human rights and health. Using a specialised monitoring platform, you will gather and synthesize information, feed timely insights to the public affairs team during regular briefings, and occasionally step in when heightened surveillance of major events is required. You will also help organise the team’s editorial sessions and draft country‑specific political overviews. Applicants must hold a university qualification in International Relations or Political Science and have prior exposure to international affairs, particularly within UN or EU frameworks. Strong written English ability and solid French reading comprehension are essential; additional languages are welcomed. Proficiency with social‑media analytics, AI‑assisted tools and standard Microsoft Office applications is required, together with proven research, analytical and clear communication skills. A sound grasp of how global politics intersect with sport, plus familiarity with the UN system, EU platforms and US political dynamics, is expected. The position is based in Lausanne, Switzerland, within a collaborative team that supports the Olympic mission. The internship provides a unique chance to develop expertise in public affairs while contributing to the sport’s societal impact.
