Swissquote Financial Accountant

The Financial Accountant role sits in Swissquote's Finance Department and reports to the Accounting Team Lead. Swissquote is a leading online banking and trading provider that demands rigorous financial accuracy, regulatory compliance and clear reporting for both internal and external stakeholders. In this position you will keep the general ledger up‑to‑date, prepare journal entries and a range of accounting schedules, and handle monthly, quarterly and annual closings. You will take part in half‑year and year‑end closings, answer auditor queries, investigate discrepancies, and ensure proper accounting treatment for banking transactions and financial instruments. You will also support the preparation of statutory and management financial statements and, where relevant, contribute to consolidated reporting and regulatory filings. The employer requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent in accounting, finance or economics, at least five years of experience in a comparable role, ideally within banking, and fluency in both French and English, spoken and written. You must be comfortable working with IFRS and Swiss generally accepted accounting principles, and you need strong Excel abilities. The role also calls for meticulous attention to detail, solid organisational skills and the capacity to collaborate across functions while handling several topics in parallel. Additional assets include knowledge of PowerBI, SQL or Python, familiarity with the Temenos T24 and OneStream platforms, and experience with the specific Swiss banking accounting rules (ARB‑FINMA).
