Layout Engineer

Kanadevia Inova, a worldwide leader in waste‑to‑X technology, is looking for a Layout Engineer to help turn discarded material into valuable products such as energy, heat, hydrogen and fertilizer. The position sits within a company that blends waste management with innovative engineering to create sustainable solutions for communities. The engineer will act as the integrator for a defined plant segment, coordinating equipment placement, piping, steel structures, foundations and air‑duct systems. Daily tasks include producing and refining system layouts, maintaining planning documents such as layout plans, load tables and end‑of‑design files, and verifying that all work follows internal instructions, company standards, process‑engineering guidelines, relevant codes (EN or ASME) and contract terms. The role also involves liaising with the project team and external parties during planning meetings to resolve issues. Candidates must bring at least five years of experience in plant or layout design for facilities like energy‑from‑waste, waste‑to‑energy, power, oil‑and‑gas or other industrial sites, covering structural and mechanical aspects, piping routes and equipment arrangement. Proficiency with Aveva E3D/PDMS, AutoCAD, Navisworks Simulate or Manage and the Microsoft Office suite is essential, as is fluency in written and spoken English; German or French knowledge is advantageous. A bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a master’s in Industrial Engineering (or a comparable field) is required, together with strong communication, technical coordination and a self‑driven, solution‑focused attitude.
