MES System Engineer (a), 80 - 100%

The Bachem Group is expanding its production capacity with a new site in Sisslerfeld, Switzerland. This initiative is part of a broader strategy to enhance output by the end of the decade. The company is seeking a dedicated MES System Engineer to join its Global IT team, working 80-100% of the time. The MES System Engineer will oversee the entire lifecycle of the Körber PAS-X Manufacturing Execution System. This includes designing, configuring, deploying, validating, maintaining, and continuously improving the system. The role involves collaborating with various teams, including manufacturing, automation, IT/OT, quality, engineering, and global digital teams, to implement scalable PAS-X solutions. The engineer will also ensure high system availability, reliability, and performance in GMP-regulated manufacturing environments, managing change control, incident management, and problem resolution. Additionally, the role includes supporting the integration of PAS-X with enterprise and shopfloor systems, maintaining GMP-compliant documentation, and acting as a Subject Matter Expert during audits and regulatory interactions. To qualify, candidates must have a Bachelor's or Master's degree in a relevant technical discipline, such as Automation Engineering, Information Technology, Computer Science, or Pharmaceutical Engineering. They should have 4-6 years of hands-on experience with Körber PAS-X MES in regulated pharmaceutical or biotech manufacturing environments. Proven experience in supporting MES implementation projects for new facilities or large-scale digital transformation programs is essential. A solid understanding of next-generation MES/IT-OT architectures and system integrations is also required. Nice-to-have skills include experience with PAS-X modules such as electronic batch records, materials management, and workflow design. Knowledge of system integration technologies, infrastructure, networking, virtualization, and cybersecurity within GMP manufacturing environments is beneficial. Fluency in English is mandatory, with German language skills being highly desirable.
