Zühlke, a partner‑owned global transformation firm founded in Switzerland in 1968, helps clients across Europe and Asia turn strategic visions into future‑ready businesses. With deep expertise in engineering, digital solutions and regulated sectors such as health and finance, the company is expanding its AI & Data practice. As an Advanced Data Engineer you will join a multidisciplinary team that designs, implements and maintains sophisticated data pipelines for a wide range of industries. In this role you will act as a trusted advisor, translating client needs into technical solutions and explaining the “what”, “why” and “how” to both technical and non‑technical audiences. Your daily work includes developing, testing and monitoring distributed processing pipelines, extracting diverse data sources into reproducible, high‑quality datasets, and collaborating closely with architects, software engineers and data scientists. You will ensure that data services meet the expectations of producers and consumers, deliver value iteratively in an Agile environment, and stay current with emerging tools and concepts. The position requires a university degree in computer science, software engineering, data science or a comparable field, together with at least three years of experience in data or software engineering. You must have a proven track record of designing, building and maintaining data products, and an understanding of data analysis, visualization and basic data‑science concepts. Experience with modern data‑architecture patterns (Data Lake, Lakehouse, Medallion, streaming, batch) and cloud platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, Microsoft Fabric or Amazon SageMaker is essential. Strong programming skills in Python and SQL, plus hands‑on experience or a keen interest in technologies like Apache Spark, Delta Lake, Airflow, Kafka, Kubernetes, Terraform and FastAPI, are required. Familiarity with languages such as Scala, R, Java, Typescript or .NET, relational and non‑relational databases, big‑data infrastructures and handling of varied data types (text, tabular, graph, time‑series, geospatial, image) is also expected. Agile development and DevOps practices, as well as fluency in both German and English, complete the mandatory profile. Zühlke offers a flexible work‑life blend with the possibility to work from home, a profit‑share scheme linked to company performance, and a vibrant global community spanning 16 offices. Employees benefit from continuous learning opportunities, mentorship and a culture that values diversity and inclusion. While the role is based in a location that supports hybrid working, the emphasis is on delivering impact quickly, collaborating across borders, and shaping the future of data‑driven innovation.
