Recent growth includes a partnership with Beekeeper to extend the platform to frontline workers. The Forward Deployed Engineer (FDE) works at the front line of LumApps' Enterprise AI Challenge. The role blends engineering with direct customer impact, turning complex data landscapes and high‑friction workflows, such as HR onboarding or IT support, into live AI‑powered Micro‑Apps and Agents. The engineer builds prototypes, integrates them with public APIs, webhooks and large language models, and delivers functional, ROI‑generating solutions in short cycles. Day‑to‑day tasks involve co‑innovating with clients to map data environments, designing middleware and custom connectors for systems like SAP, Workday or ServiceNow, and feeding field insights back to the core R&D team. The engineer also creates reusable integration templates, code snippets and technical articles to support the broader developer community and help standardise industry‑specific solution packs. The position requires at least five years of hands‑on AI implementation and forward‑deployment experience, a university degree in Computer Science or Information Technology, and full professional fluency in English. Candidates must demonstrate a strong bias for action, the ability to self‑prioritise in ambiguous, fast‑moving settings, and solid full‑stack skills in Node.js, TypeScript, Java or Python. A genuine interest in emerging technologies, especially generative AI, retrieval‑augmented generation, AI frameworks and agentic workflows, is also essential. Based in Zurich, the role sits within a global team of over 600 employees spread across 11 offices.
