Process Excellence Specialist - 80-100%

The Process Excellence Specialist position is based in Visp, Switzerland, and belongs to Lonza, a global life‑science company that manufactures medicines across more than thirty sites worldwide. The role is a full‑time (80‑100 %) assignment that serves as the operational‑excellence lead for selected supply‑chain segments. Every day the specialist will spot improvement chances, rank them against the company's strategy and turn them into concrete projects. They will set clear problem definitions, establish baselines and key performance indicators, run root‑cause analyses, and build action plans with owners and deadlines. The work includes steering cross‑functional initiatives that involve planning, inventory, logistics, manufacturing, quality, procurement, finance, EHS and digital teams, while keeping projects on track and confirming that benefits are realised. Coaching of colleagues in Lean thinking and structured problem‑solving is also part of the remit. The ideal candidate has a proven track record in supply‑chain, operational‑excellence or continuous‑improvement environments. They must possess deep expertise in Lean tools and structured analysis techniques such as A3 reports, the "5 Whys", fishbone diagrams, SIPOC, FMEA, root‑cause analysis and Pareto charts. Strong project‑management abilities, facilitation skills and the capacity to engage stakeholders at all levels are essential. The person should be comfortable interpreting complex operational data, pinpointing validated root causes and applying effective countermeasures. Experience influencing teams across a matrix organisation and a solid understanding of end‑to‑end supply‑chain flows, preferably within a regulated manufacturing setting, are required. Excellent communication, visual‑management and executive‑reporting capabilities are also mandatory. The position offers an office‑first environment with the possibility to work remotely one day per week, and occasional travel between sites and the headquarters.
