The Cocoa Trader role is part of the Products Trading team based in Zurich. This position is responsible for the external sourcing and sale of cocoa powder and cake to European manufacturing sites, as well as supporting broader trading activities for cocoa butter and liquor. The Cocoa Trader's main day-to-day responsibilities include managing the procurement and sale of cocoa powder and cake, overseeing sales execution, and developing the supplier portfolio. The role involves gathering market intelligence, evaluating sourcing opportunities, and managing risk exposures from trading activities. Additionally, the trader will support cocoa butter and liquor trading, advise on market developments, and execute futures and foreign exchange transactions. The position also requires resolving quality, logistics, and supply chain issues, and monitoring trade execution and product flows. To qualify for the Cocoa Trader role, candidates must have a Bachelor's degree and at least 5 years of experience in trading or commodities within an international environment. Fluency in English is required, with French or German being a plus. Strong analytical and numerical skills, as well as good Excel, PowerPoint, and report writing skills, are essential. The role requires the ability to lead teams, work cross-functionally, and manage multiple priorities under pressure. A solid understanding of commodities and international trade is also necessary. Nice-to-have skills include previous direct customer exposure and strong presentation skills. The role offers a dynamic and changing environment, with a requirement to travel around 30% of the time.
