Computer Vision Engineer

The position is a Computer Vision Engineer at Destinus, a company that builds high‑speed, autonomous unmanned aerial systems for defense customers worldwide. Within the Daedalean AG unit, the role focuses on creating safety‑critical AI that lets aircraft perceive, understand and act in real time, advancing the next generation of autonomous flight technology. Day‑to‑day work involves designing, coding and refining computer‑vision algorithms and deep‑learning models for tasks such as localization, mapping, object detection, tracking and image classification. You will also extend the current code base, evaluate system performance in both simulated and real environments, and work closely with flight‑testing, hardware and sensor‑fusion groups to embed vision solutions into prototypes and final products. The essential qualifications include strong C++ programming abilities, with Rust knowledge considered a plus, and practical experience using OpenCV, PyTorch or TensorFlow. Candidates must have a Master’s or PhD in Computer Vision, Computer Science, Robotics, Electrical Engineering or a closely related discipline, and a background that covers both classic vision techniques and modern deep‑learning approaches.
