The Data Science & AI Specialist role is pivotal in establishing Accelleron's new Advanced Analytics AI Center of Excellence. This role involves transforming business challenges into data-driven solutions, handling both structured and unstructured data sets, and ensuring the safe and effective use of AI across the company. The main day-to-day responsibilities include delivering AI and machine-learning use cases, creating actionable insights using data science and AI methods, and ensuring the sustainable operation of solutions through documentation, retraining, and monitoring. The role also involves working closely with business units to understand their needs, translating analytical results into business value, and advising on data inputs, feature selection, and modeling approaches. Additionally, the specialist will identify and source relevant data, collaborate with the Enterprise Data Layer and Data Product Catalogue, and integrate tools like Python and R into the analytics landscape. The role also includes enabling AI citizens by providing guardrails, templates, training, and coaching, and sharing best practices across various teams. To qualify for this role, candidates must have practical experience delivering data science and AI solutions in a business context, ideally in an international industrial environment. A track record of taking analytical work from exploration through to productive use is essential. Experience advising or coaching non-technical stakeholders on data science and AI is also required.
