System Administrator

Digital Wave Finance, a young Swiss firm that designs cutting‑edge crypto‑trading software, is looking for a System Administrator to join its research‑driven engineering team. The company blends mathematics, physics and computer science to create trading strategies that aim to dominate global markets, and it offers relocation support for candidates moving to Zug. In this role you will be responsible for overseeing Ubuntu Linux environments across both on‑premise data centres and cloud VPCs. Daily tasks include provisioning and configuring new servers, diagnosing hardware, system and application problems, and setting up monitoring for performance and security. You will also enhance the infrastructure by applying automation tools such as Ansible and Terraform, manage Ethernet/IP networking, work with NFS or Ceph storage, and support container platforms like Docker and Kubernetes. Scripting in Bash or Python, basic knowledge of SQL, NoSQL and key‑value databases, as well as familiarity with C/C++ codebases and CI/CD pipelines using Gitlab or Jenkins, are part of the technical landscape. The position requires a university degree in IT or a comparable field, solid expertise in Linux operating systems, and proven ability to automate configuration and deployment. Candidates must understand networking protocols, have hands‑on experience with storage solutions, and be comfortable with containerisation and scripting. An appreciation for rapid feedback cycles and a desire to learn alongside other experts are valued, while the attractive benefits package and central Zug office provide a supportive environment for professional growth.
