Senior Manager European Patent Attorney (m/f/d)

Fresenius Kabi, a worldwide health‑care firm that produces injectable medicines, biosimilars and infusion technologies, is looking for a Senior Manager European Patent Attorney to help the business navigate patent matters that are essential for launching new products. The position can be based in Eysins, Switzerland, or performed remotely from any location within the country. The role involves steering multi‑jurisdictional patent litigations and directing the overall IP strategy for several biosimilar programmes at different development phases. The attorney will supply senior management with precise legal counsel on intricate IP environments, manage the prosecution of a portfolio that spans biopharma and injection‑device inventions, and handle patent challenges such as European oppositions. Additional duties include preparing Freedom to Operate opinions, tracking competitor patents, collaborating with cross‑functional project teams to shape FTO designs, and synchronising IP, regulatory, supply and commercial plans to reach target markets. The job also covers life‑cycle management of biosimilar assets, drafting and filing patent applications, supporting due‑diligence and licensing activities, and delivering training to colleagues without IP backgrounds. Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in life sciences or biochemistry (a chemistry background is a plus), be a licensed European Patent Attorney or US Patent Attorney, and bring at least ten years of experience in intellectual‑property work. Fluency in English is required, while knowledge of German or French is considered advantageous. Preferred attributes include a chemistry expertise and additional language skills in German or French, which can enhance collaboration across the multinational environment.
