The role of an L2 Application Support Engineer (a) at Adnovum involves maintaining the stability of business-critical applications and resolving complex technical issues. The main day-to-day responsibilities include analyzing and resolving incidents escalated by L1 Support, troubleshooting application issues using various tools and documentation, and coordinating with support teams, developers, and external providers. The engineer will also drive operational improvements and support automation initiatives. To qualify for this role, candidates must have a degree in computer science, information technology, or equivalent practical experience. Experience in application support, application management, or production support is essential. Knowledge of Linux, SQL, and application log analysis, as well as experience with monitoring, observability, and ITSM tools, is required. Understanding of ITIL-based incident and problem management processes, deployment, release, and CI/CD processes is also necessary. Experience with container platforms such as OpenShift, Kubernetes, or Docker is a must. Nice-to-have skills include strong communication and collaboration abilities, and ITIL 4 Foundation certification is a strong plus. Fluency in German and English is required.
