Senior Accounting Manager

Molecular Partners is looking for a Senior Accounting Manager to join its Finance organisation, reporting directly to the Director of Accounting & Controlling. The company operates in the biotech arena, developing therapeutic candidates and emphasizing scientific excellence, teamwork and a purpose‑driven culture. In this position you will own the routine handling of monthly, quarterly and annual closing cycles, guaranteeing that financial results are delivered on schedule and with precision. Tasks include scrutinising journal postings, performing account reconciliations, analysing variances, and confirming adherence to internal rules as well as Swiss GAAP and IFRS standards. You will also champion process automation, assist in the compilation of quarterly and yearly statements, prepare audit‑ready files, and oversee the accuracy of subsidiary month‑ends. Collaboration with the accounting crew, the SOX group, and external auditors will be essential, alongside occasional technical accounting research, VAT filing and ad‑hoc reporting projects. The role requires a solid academic background such as a Finance and Accounting Specialist diploma, a bachelor’s or master’s degree in accounting or finance, with a CPA or similar credential viewed favorably. Candidates must bring at least eight years of progressive accounting experience, preferably with exposure to pharma or biotech environments, and possess a thorough grasp of Swiss GAAP FER/IFRS and internal control frameworks. Proven ability to manage consolidation and month‑end processes, a meticulous eye for detail, strong analytical problem‑solving, and fluency in English are mandatory; German or Swiss‑German adds significant value. Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central and reporting tools like Power BI or Workiva is advantageous.
