Senior Software and System Architect

NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Software and System Architect to join its Architecture group, which designs next‑generation DPUs and NICs for data‑center technologies. The role focuses on researching emerging tech and defining architectures across networking, security, virtualization and orchestration domains, influencing the full cloud solution stack from hardware up to applications. On a daily basis you will lead the architecture of cloud‑networking solutions, create end‑to‑end designs for DPUs and NICs, and produce clear specification documents. You will evaluate new technologies, build rapid proof‑of‑concept prototypes, and collaborate with global teams of software and hardware architects, R&D, product groups, solution architects and field engineers, as well as high‑profile customers. The position requires a strong academic background with a B.Sc, M.Sc or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Electrical Engineering, and at least four years of experience both as a software architect/system architect and as a software developer. Deep expertise in C and Python, hands‑on Linux development (including Docker and container technologies), and solid experience with cloud and data‑center networking are essential. You must also possess a broad understanding of networking protocols and topologies, strong design and debugging skills, and the ability to work concurrently with multiple international groups while communicating effectively in documentation and presentations. Candidates with additional experience in networking/security devices, DPDK/OVS/OVN, Kubernetes components, OpenStack/OpenShift, cloud APIs or automation tools such as Ansible will stand out.
