Staff Test Engineer

The Staff Test Engineer will join Semtech Corporation, a leading provider of high‑performance semiconductor, IoT and cloud‑connectivity solutions that enable smarter, more sustainable products across infrastructure, industrial and consumer markets. In this senior position the engineer will own test development for the company's mixed‑signal and RF portfolio, guiding solutions from early silicon validation through to high‑volume manufacturing while tackling novel technical challenges without needing step‑by‑step guidance. Key day‑to‑day duties involve taking part in new‑product design reviews to embed analog and digital DFT strategies, creating and deploying high‑speed test methodologies on the Advantest V93000 platform at both package and wafer levels, and collaborating with cross‑functional teams to evaluate designs and feed back ATE results. The role also supports product qualification by building reliability screening tests, works with Product Engineering to complete ATE characterisation, rolls out test solutions to offshore OSAT partners, and leads periodic test‑review meetings. Continuous improvement of test time and yield to boost margin is an ongoing responsibility. The position requires a degree in Electrical Engineering or a comparable field, a minimum of five years' experience in semiconductor ATE testing, and proven hands‑on work with the V93000 system. Candidates must have a background in testing high‑speed mixed‑signal integrated circuits, experience bringing up and supporting test solutions at offshore locations, and solid knowledge of high‑speed PCB design concepts together with schematic‑level hardware design skills. Strong collaboration across design, product, validation, applications and marketing groups, the ability to meet aggressive timelines, multitasking across projects at different lifecycle stages, and delivery of high‑quality test results in line with quality‑management standards are also essential.
