BASEL OFFICE - Payroll Manager

The Payroll Manager at Viking is a key role within the company, which is a global leader in experiential travel. The Payroll Manager's main tasks involve overseeing the entire German payroll process for around 700 employees. This includes managing the monthly payroll run using SAP and SuccessFactors, recording and reviewing wage changes, and verifying master data for new hires, departures, and changes. The role also involves generating monthly reports for health insurance, social security institutions, and tax offices, as well as handling accident reports and communicating with authorities and insurance companies. Additionally, the Payroll Manager will respond to all payroll-related inquiries, prepare payroll reports, and support the team in various administrative tasks and HR projects. To excel in this role, candidates must have several years of experience in German payroll, along with advanced knowledge of German wage tax, social security regulations, and labor law. Strong skills in MS-Office, particularly Excel, and advanced experience with SAP are essential. The ideal candidate will have a proactive mindset toward problem-solving and system optimization, and be fluent in both German and English. Nice-to-have skills include experience in German payroll within an international environment and familiarity with SuccessFactors.
