Team Lead

Its flagship product, the Canton Network, is a blockchain built for institutional finance, combining privacy, compliance and high‑throughput settlement across many asset classes. The Team Lead will head a group of engineers responsible for delivering large, multi‑component features. Daily duties involve breaking down complex work into clear, achievable tasks, assigning them across the team, and communicating progress both verbally and in writing. The role also requires close collaboration with product managers, other technical leads and directors to align on cross‑team dependencies, reduce risk, and translate company strategy into concrete three‑to‑six‑month plans. In addition to technical output, the lead will contribute code, design new product capabilities, and act as a role model for engineering best practices. Candidates must possess a strong academic background, typically a master's or doctorate in computer science or a comparable field, or equivalent professional experience. A deep, hands‑on knowledge of the Daml language and the Canton platform is essential, as is expertise in scalable, distributed and event‑driven architectures. The role demands solid architectural and systems‑design leadership, fluency in functional programming, preferably Scala or Haskell, and the ability to review and write code in several languages such as Scala, Haskell, Java, Go and Daml. Proficiency with Git and GitHub for source‑code management, as well as a commitment to high‑quality delivery, are also required. While the core requirements are technical, the position also values the ability to work across geographic boundaries and to provide accurate project estimates.
