The technologist will also provide training and support for the use of histology equipment and collaborate with laboratory scientists to optimize tissue-based assays in early drug discovery research projects. Staying updated with the latest technologies and approaches in histopathology is also a key part of the job. To qualify for this role, candidates must have a university degree in the life sciences or be a Laboratory Technologist with at least three years of histology laboratory experience. They should possess exceptional skills in the histological preparation of mammalian tissues, including hands-on experience in fixation, embedding, sectioning, and staining. A solid understanding of the operation and maintenance of histological laboratory equipment, as well as regulations for assay documentation, is essential. The role requires a keen attention to detail, robust manual dexterity, and precision handling of delicate samples. Excellent communication skills and high fluency in English are also must-haves. Nice-to-have skills include a customer-focused mindset with a drive for growth and a questioning attitude. The ability to thrive in a dynamic, inclusive environment and implement innovative ideas efficiently in a fast-paced research context is also beneficial.
